Steve writes stories on his front porch in Brunswick, Maine, where he chats with parents walking children to school, dogs pausing in his yard for a private moment, and other passersby, whether they want to or not. Children on school buses refer to him as the “crazy old guy.”

The recollections are mostly true, except for the parts that aren’t. These stories are as much for the author’s own amusement as they are for the listener, although he does enjoy forcing a laugh or a shock on the listener. Hopefully you will be amused. Otherwise, you can buy it for an annoying in-law. They will have something else to complain about, which is a gift in and of itself.
My Buddy Paul
I recently saw some graffiti in New York City which boldly stated, “Bad Decisions Make The Best Stories.” This book is a collection of Paul and I making bad decisions as we walked, hiked, and paddled through Maine. There are many momentous books about men challenging the elements. This would not be one of them. Proceeds of My Buddy Paul will be donated to the Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program (MCHPP) of Brunswick, Maine.
